At Taimaka, comprehensive admission and visit data are systematically recorded. A key opportunity emerged to use predictive machine learning (ML) models to identify children at elevated risk of mortality or morbidity who could benefit from additional intervention.

50% of children presenting at Taimaka program sites have no formal document with their name and date of birth. We built an accurate, inexpensive biometric verification system for authenticating pediatric patients in our program.
